This course is aimed at those who have a peripheral involvement in the transport of dangerous goods by sea, but have a requirement to possess a basic or general knowledge of aspects of the IMDG Code.

General

The Regulations that govern the movement of Dangerous Goods across the sea to and from the UK are complex and need to be adhered to, to ensure the shipment arrives in a timely manner without delay. This course will provide a basic introduction to the regulations to help understand the legislative requirements to ensure your shipment is accepted for carriage.

Course Suitability

This course is designed as an introduction to the regulations for persons who are responsible for arranging movements of dangerous goods that are in-scope to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG).

Course Aim

To define the duties and responsibilities of consignors, carriers, freight forwarders, and those organisations involved with dangerous goods traffic by sea.
