The United Kingdom has submitted a formal notification to the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), confirming that we will be ready to implement Digital ATA Carnets from 1 April 2026.
The European Union and Norway have also submitted their notifications, with Switzerland expected to confirm shortly. This marks a major milestone and clears the path for the first group of Digital ATA Carnet countries to go live in Q2 2026.
The exact launch date will be formalised on 23 January, during the meeting of the first eATA Carnet countries in Paris.
What this means for ATA Carnet users
With digital carnets approaching fast, businesses using ATA Carnets must ensure they are fully prepared ahead of 1 April 2026.
To support this transition, we will be hosting Digital Carnet Workshops designed to guide you through the process and ensure you are ready for the change.
