IRAQ – New requirements for legalised Commercial Invoices

The Iraqi Commercial Attaché in London has announced new requirements for the legalisation of commercial invoices, effective 1 November 2025. These measures aim to streamline financial transfers and customs clearance.


Mandatory Invoice Details

All commercial invoices must now include the following information:

1.       Invoice date and number

2.       Payment terms

3.       Shipping terms

4.       Invoice amount and currency

5.       Global customs (HS) code (minimum six digits)

6.       Importer and exporter addresses

7.       Detailed description of the goods

8.       Country of origin

9.       Trademark

10.  Quantity and unit of measurement

11.  Unit price and total price


Submission Options

For approval, companies may provide either:

·       The final commercial invoice, or

·       The primary invoice together with the sales contract (the final invoice must reflect all details from the primary invoice).


Effective Date

These requirements will apply to all invoices submitted from 1 November 2025.
