The Iraqi Commercial Attaché in London has announced new requirements for the legalisation of commercial invoices, effective 1 November 2025. These measures aim to streamline financial transfers and customs clearance.
Mandatory Invoice Details
All commercial invoices must now include the following information:
1. Invoice date and number
2. Payment terms
3. Shipping terms
4. Invoice amount and currency
5. Global customs (HS) code (minimum six digits)
6. Importer and exporter addresses
7. Detailed description of the goods
8. Country of origin
9. Trademark
10. Quantity and unit of measurement
11. Unit price and total price
Submission Options
For approval, companies may provide either:
· The final commercial invoice, or
· The primary invoice together with the sales contract (the final invoice must reflect all details from the primary invoice).
Effective Date
These requirements will apply to all invoices submitted from 1 November 2025.
We encourage all exporters and importers to review their documentation processes in advance to avoid delays.
