Top 3 tips to avoid delays in your EUR1 applications

A UK EUR1 certificate is a document that can be used to help benefit from a reduced or nil duty rate when exporting to certain countries. Here are 3 top tips to ensure your application is completed correctly and to avoid delays:

1. If your invoice contains goods of UK preferential origin and goods of non-UK preferential origin you will need to do a Mixed Consignment application. This is when only the goods of UK preferential origin would be included in the EUR1 application. Please see our Notice below for more guidance on how you would complete the application NOTICE 004 - UK EUR1 Mixed Origin

2. Depending on the country of export you may be required to send us a pre-signed EUR1 form. This is when a blank EUR1 is sent to us after being signed and we print the accepted application onto it. Please see the below link for more information on how to sign these blank certificates Guidance on Pre-Signed UK EUR1 Forms

3. In the description of the goods section in Box 8 if you add a general description of the goods rather than providing a more detailed itemized description, then putting the invoice number in Box 10 becomes mandatory.
