We’re pleased to let you know that an update to the Exporter eCERT platform will be rolled out shortly, moving from Version 7 to Version 8. This forms part of our ongoing commitment to provide a more secure, modern, and user-friendly system.
The update is scheduled for the evening of Monday 27th April, and importantly, there will be no downtime to the eCERT service.
What to expect
Version 8 has been designed to feel familiar, so your day-to-day use of eCERT should remain smooth and intuitive. Alongside this, a number of enhancements have been introduced to improve usability and efficiency:
Simplified Description of Goods (Box 6 / Box 8) For UK Certificates of Origin, Arab Certificates of Origin, and EUR1s, this section is now presented as a single field rather than multiple split fields. This makes data entry easier and helps reduce errors.
Improved Applications Page A refreshed layout provides a cleaner, more modern experience, with page numbering replacing infinite scrolling to make navigation simpler.
Enhanced Stored Data Selection A more intuitive interface has been introduced, making it easier to select stored data both within applications and via the “New” menu.
Better Document Handling Uploaded documents can now be viewed and managed through a clearer, more streamlined layout, making document review faster and easier.
Faster Upload Speeds Performance improvements have been made across all certificate types to help you work more efficiently.
Optional VAT Receipts for Card Payments Where enabled, VAT receipts will be automatically generated for credit card payments and can be printed by both exporters and Chambers.
Important information about existing applications
Due to the changes to the Description of Goods fields (Box 6 / Box 8), any applications created in Version 7 for the following certificate types cannot be copied or submitted once Version 8 is live:
Certificates of Origin
EUR1
Arab Certificates of Origin
To avoid any disruption, we recommend that you submit all in-progress applications before the update takes place. After the update, you will need to create a new application for each certificate type the first time you use Version 8. These new Version 8 applications can then be copied as usual going forward.
Timing
The update will take place between 16:30 and 17:00 GMT on Monday 27th April. There is no downtime, and you will see the updated Version 8 platform the next time you log in after the update.
