Update on UK-India FTA – Origin Declarations and Chamber Stamping

UK exporters wishing to claim preferential tariff treatment on goods exported to India must use an Origin Declaration completed by the exporter or producer.
Please note that this is a self-certification process. Origin Declarations must not be submitted to, stamped, certified or endorsed by a UK Chamber of Commerce or any other UK Issuing Body.
HMRC guidance confirms that UK exporters and producers completing Origin Declarations must be registered with HMRC before making a declaration.
For each shipment, the exporter should complete the Origin Declaration Template and provide it to:
The importer of record in India; and
The Indian customs authorities, where required.
