They don’t know they are dead 👻

They were signed…they were stamped…they were ready….or so we thought

It was a chilly Autumn afternoon at the World Freight Terminal at Manchester Airport. The shipment was ready to leave the warehouse, the documents were prepared and all was well.

Until the Certificate of Origin came back with a problem 🧟

The customer in the country of export had asked for the commodity code to be included in Box 6 of the certificate. There was only one problem – it wasn’t there.

Suddenly the finished task, wasn’t quite dead and buried.

The lesson?

Always check with your stakeholders when applying for certificates to ensure everyone’s conditions are met

Because sometimes a certificate may look ready to go…but it doesn’t know it is already dead
